Free radicals are caused by pollution and sun exposure.
Antioxidants help protect the skin from the harmful effects of free radiacals, promoting a youthful complexion.
However, antioxidants may be depleted by sun exposure and pollution.
GLOWELLE helps replenish the skin’s antioxidants! GLOWELLE is simply the ultimate inside-out beauty drink and the perfect addition to your beauty routine.
Plenty! Let’s face it, your skin is a direct reflection of your health and perceived age. When your skin feels dull, dry and lifeless, you just don’t feel as sexy and confident!
Here’s the scoop on skin aging. Your skin will naturally change over time due to two things. Number one: intrinsic or hereditary aging processes, which you can’t do much about. Number two: extrinsic or external factors, such as degradation from free radicals from the sun exposure* and pollution, which you can do A LOT about. Antioxidants are critical to maintaining younger-looking skin because they counter the skin-destructive free radicals.
The primary function of the skin, which, by the way, is the largest organ in the human body, is to provide a barrier of protection from the external environment. Your skin guards you against the sun, harmful microorganisms, and toxic substances, to name a few.
That’s great news for you, but bad news for your skin because exposure to sun and pollution both generate free radicals, which are considered to be key components in the degradation of healthy skin. For example, skin redness and inflammation and uneven splotchy skin tone are all linked to free radicals!
Luckily, free radicals can be neutralized by antioxidant substances, such as beta-carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E, which exist naturally in the skin. But here’s the catch: if these antioxidants become depleted, then cell degeneration can occur. And it’s this cell degeneration that leads to the breakdown of collagen and elastin, the building blocks of healthy skin. The result? An increase in fine lines and wrinkles.
The trick is making sure you always have more antioxidants than free radicals in your system. Free radical production arises as a natural byproduct of everyday living. It’s unavoidable. But if free radicals are produced in excess, due to overexposure to the sun, pollution, and other external toxic substances, then your antioxidant supply becomes depleted. That’s why it’s critical to replenish these antioxidants to protect your skin.
There’s increasing evidence that some antioxidants work synergistically with each other. Consider the case of vitamin E and vitamin C. By itself, vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant that protects your skin cells from free radicals. But once it has disarmed a free radical, vitamin E becomes spent, or inactive. Enter vitamin C.
Vitamin C is an antioxidant that actually can regenerate — or bring back to life — vitamin E. This recycling ability explains the synergistic effects seen in people who take both vitamin E and vitamin C. In two separate human studies, researchers found that vitamins C and E worked better to protect the skin against the harmful effects from free radicals generated from the sun when taken together than when taken individually. 1,2
